Before: All those stairs up to a bright attic flat

Background

The client had purchased a recently converted one bedroom top floor flat, in a large Victorian town house. The renovation was not entirely to my client’s taste as many of the ideas had not been fully thought through for practical living. My client was anxious to rectify the situation using our furnishing and style concepts and aim to have the flat available for rental within weeks of the completion of the purchase.

Solution

The kitchen area of the main reception living/dining room needed to be extended into the eaves to allow for additional kitchen storage space and a freezer to be fitted. Newly laid carpet was removed from the kitchen area and bathroom for hygiene reasons and laminate flooring was laid to replace it. Modern floor-to-ceiling mirrors were used to give the impression of space and to reflect light in the bedroom and living room. All rooms were styled and furnished in a contemporary style using flat pack furniture due to access restrictions on the staircase and entrance area.

Result

A fresh, light and airy contemporary attic flat was shown ready to move into within a few weeks of completion and a tenant signed up for 12 months.
