Before: Teenager’s bedroom make-over

Background

My client wanted to give this room a makeover. It needed to be re-styled for her teenage daughter who wanted a light, feminine and un-cluttered look. Her daughter wanted a double bed and a desk to be included in the scheme.

Solution

Three walls were painted white, with an accent wall in lilac, brightening and refreshing the original scheme. A corner desk provided a study area and two chests of drawers combined with under bed storage boxes kept all the clothes hidden. Over door hanging hooks were used for any long items of clothing like coats. Details like the over bed canopy with beaded tie-backs, a small chandelier ceiling light, & beside lamp created the feminine touches and the white cotton voile panels instead of nets provided privacy. Black and white prints featuring movie icons were used as wall decoration.

Result

An uncluttered and airy room, offering a study zone and ample sleeping space. It would also work well as a guest bedroom later on.
