Before: Berkshire riverside apartment
Background
A new client purchased a riverside apartment with stunning views of Windsor Castle as an investment buyer. The company, who was chosen to handle the renting of her apartment, recommended that she contact us for a quote on some refurbishments, as it appeared to be around 20 years dated.
Solution
RCI liaised entirely by phone and e-mail with the client as she was residing in the Middle East. We provided a refurbishment solution, needing to encompass a lot of the existing furniture as it was purchased as part of the house sale. Although the client had quite different style ideas from the actual requirements of the executive rental market in this area, RCI managed to encourage her to allow most of the required changes and compromised on a few personal elements that she wanted to include. The project involved decoration throughout, new lighting, a new kitchen (including hiding existing white goods), some new tiles for the bathroom floors, window treatments, a few pieces of additional furniture and accessories.
Result
The project was completed within the agreed timeframe minimizing her loss of rental income. The agent was able to secure a 4-year tenancy term within days of it coming onto the rental market.
